SPEC Clutch Kits: 03-08 2.0L Stage 1
Quantity

Available in Stages 1 to Stage 5. Spec clutch kits also fit with oem flywheels. 

Clutch Break-in Procedures: During the first 100 miles, never idle away from a stop, always bring the rpm’s up to at least 1,500rpm before letting the clutch out. If you don’t do this, the clutch will begin to chatter. Clutch will have less play from disengaged to fully engaged than a stock clutch does. 

No hard launches yet. Do not apply full power yet. The next 100-300 miles the Clutch should engage very smoothly. If it ever gets chattery, hold the rpm's higher than 1,500 and slowly let the clutch out in 1st gear, keeping the rpm’s at a higher rev. Doing this once will eliminate any chatter. 

You can apply full power now. No hard launches yet At 300 plus miles Clutch should be completely broken in. Hard launches are fine. Full power is fine.

Spec clutch kits work with all brands of aftermarket flywheels and also with OEM flywheel but it's not recommended to use stock flywheel with higher stages of this clutch kit. 

 

STAGE 1

Types of driving: Street, Drag, Drift, Road Race, Rally, Pulling, Autocross

For bolt on naturally aspirated and mildly modified forced induction engines. Stock-like daily drivability and good wear characteristics. This kit features high clamp pressure plate with a steel backed woven organic sprung disc. The organic disc offers smooth engagement, quiet operation with light pedal feel. This is excellent for daily driving and occasional racing. All clutch kits include release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool (if applicable).

Note: cars with dual mass flywheel will come with unsprung disc.

 

STAGE 2

Types of driving: Street, Drag, Autocross

For all mild o moderately modified naturally aspirated and power adder engines. Also good for stock power levels and spirited driving when good daily drivability and extremely long life are the goal. Stock-like daily drivability and excellent wear characteristics.

High clamp pressure plate, steel-backed and multi-compound woven organic material and high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, tool kit and some include throw out bearing.

Note: cars with dual mass flywheel will come with unsprung disc.

 

STAGE 2+

Types of driving: Street, Drag, Road Race, Rally, Pulling, Autocross

For all modified engines making more torqe than the stage 2 can support. Maintains stage 2 fell for good daily drivability and offers very good wear characteristics, but provides a higher torque capacity.

High clamp pressure plate, composit multi-friction carbon-kevlar material, high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, tool kit and some include throw out bearing.

Note: cars with dual mass flywheel will come with unsprung disc.

 

STAGE 3

Types of driving:Street, Drag, Road Race, Rally, Pulling, Autocross

For heavily modified street and race engines. Offers sufficient daily drivability with a comfortable pedal feel and quick engagement. Offers good wear characteristics under low and high stress usage.

High clamp pressure plate, 4 or 6 puck carbon semi-metallic friction with high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, tool kit and some include throw out bearing. 6 puck is standard on most applications, but 4 puck can be specified when ordering.

Note: cars with dual mass flywheel will come with unsprung disc.

STAGE 3+

Types of driving: Street, Drag, Pulling, Autocross 

The flagship stage for a high powered street or race car that requires a manageable and friendly engagement, the stage 3+ features a carbon semi-metallic full faced material that offers unparalleled life, friction co-efficient and drivability characteristics in one single package.

The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Great for street, drag, drift, autocross, road racing, pulling, rallye and drift

STAGE 4

Types of driving: Drag, Drift, Road Race, Rally, Pulling, Circle Track

High clamp pressure plate, 3,4 or 6 puck semi-metallic friction with high torque rigid hub and carrier assembly, tool kt and some include throw out bearing.

Note: cars with dual mass flywheel will come with unsprung disc.

STAGE 5

Applications Street, Drag, Pulling, Autocross. Features a full-metallic disc with the highest possible friction co-efficient. Street drivable but not street-friendly. The hub is solid 12-rivet and the assembly is heat treated for strength and durability. Best for extreme street and drag racing.
